Write On, Door County will present a free memoir-writing class June 25, 10 am – 12 pm, at its writing center, 4210 Juddville Road in Juddville. Writer-in-residence Naomi Asaturyan will lead Writing from Memory, which is open to anyone, regardless of previous writing experience. Participants will explore writing from personal experience and memory in a safe, supportive space.
“I move between mediums,” Asaturyan said of her writing. “Often I find myself working with narrative nonfiction – as most of my work is generated through my own experience – that I then fictionalize, which is often called auto-fiction. I love to explore writing through using my own memories, or memories that are generated from listening to a song or looking at a photograph. I believe this is a great way to find and tell stories that are uniquely our own.”
Advance registration at writeondoorcounty.org is required because space is limited.
