Free Museum Day at Ephraim Village Museums

Ephraim Village Museums will offer free admission into museum buildings for the Fifth Annual Free Museum Day on August 13. The participating museum buildings are: Anderson Store (1858), Anderson Barn (1880), Pioneer Schoolhouse (1880), Goodletson Cabin (ca. 1855) and Historic Iverson House (1854). Costumed docents and volunteers will greet the public from 11 am – 4 pm.

“The Ephraim Historical Foundation strives not only to preserve the history of Ephraim, but also to share it,” said Thea Thompson, new curator and assistant director. “Free Museum Day is a way for us to reach this goal and for us to ensure everyone has access to the heritage and history housed within our museum buildings.” A Free Museum Pass can be obtained at any one of the museums or at the Ephraim Visitor Information Center.

The museum buildings are open 11 am – 4 pm, Tuesday through Saturday, until September 3. Fall hours are Friday and Saturday from September 9 through October 8. Regular museum admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students, and free for children under the age of six. The admission fee includes entrance into four museums and the historic Ephraim walking tour, which departs from the Anderson Barn History Center at 10:30 am every Tuesday through Friday until September 2, then Friday and Saturday until October 8.
