Free Screening of “Transition 1.0”

The film Transition 1.0 will be shown at the Fish Creek Community Center on September 14 at 4 pm. The 45-minute film documents ongoing efforts to create resilient communities in the face of economic and environmental challenges. A discussion will follow. The event is free and open to the public.

Based on the work of Rob Hopkins, author of The Transition Handbook: from Oil Dependency to Local Resilience, the film features facts and figures as well as humor and hope to encourage the viewer to envision a positive outcome for one’s own community. As Hopkins states, “There is no reason why a lower-energy, more resilient future needs to have a lower quality of life than the present.”
