Free Throw Prodigies

Lauren Kita and Anthony Laughlin, both eighth graders at Gibraltar Middle School, competed at the state level of the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship in Wisconsin Rapids on March 17. They both finished as State Runner-Up.

Kita made 19 out of 25 free throws while competing against eight other eighth grade girls, one shot behind the winner. Laughlin made 20 out of 25 free throws while competing against six other eighth grade boys, also one shot behind the winner.

To advance to the state competition, they both won their Council Level at Gibraltar Middle School, District Level at St Mary’s School in Algoma, and Regional Level at West DePere High School.
