Even though the sprint and half iron events are sold out for the 10th annual Door County Triathlon, transfers can still be made; the transfer deadline is June 30 at midnight. After June 30, transfers will not be permitted for any reason. To find buyers and sellers, visit the Door County Triathlon’s Facebook page.
Putting on a sporting event of this size requires lots of help, and volunteers are still needed. Volunteers are needed throughout event week, particularly on the event weekend, July 18 – 20. Some of the volunteer duties are: bike bottle handout, body marking, handing out Fla-Vor-Ice Popsicles, swim course set up, etc. For complete volunteer opportunities visit doorcountytriathlon.com/volunteer.
Volunteers receive a free t-shirt and are invited to enjoy a free pig and corn roast after their shift at the finish line party.
On July 5, the Green Bay Multisport Club and MyTeam Triumph will host a free Door County Triathlon Training Day at Murphy Park. People interested in participating should gather at the park at 7:30 am. The club will offer two swim distances at 8 am followed by a bike ride around 9 am. Fluids and pretzels will be available on the bike ride at mile 9, 27, 38 and 47. A self-paced run will follow. This is a great opportunity to become accustomed to open water swimming and familiarized with the course. For more information visit doorcountytriathlon.com.
