Free Well Testing in Kewaunee County

The Kewaunee County Land & Water Conservation Department (LWCD) is continuing to offer free well testing for private well owners as part of its comprehensive study on groundwater quality in the county.

The program is accepting up to 300 participants for testing in October. Those who received a free well test in July 2022 are not eligible for the free test in October. The well testing is funded by the Wisconsin Coastal Management Program, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and Peninsula Pride Farms.

Bottle pickup will be Oct. 20 and 21 at the LWCD office, 625 3rd St. in Luxemburg. Volunteers will instruct participants about how and when to sample their wells.

Once water testing is complete, well owners will receive a copy of their individual results, which will be confidential and presented publicly only in a way that does not identify individual homes or businesses.

To register, contact Davina Bonness by Oct. 19 at 920.845.9743 or [email protected].
