Freestyle Ski Race in Sturgeon Bay Feb. 17

Snowkraft Nordic hosts the Eirawen 20 cross-country ski race Feb. 17, 9 am. The schedule includes a 10K at 9 am and a 20K at 9:15 am. Race-day registration begins at 7:30 am. Skiers of all abilities are welcome in the event that will benefit the nonprofit Door County Silent Sports Alliance (DCSSA) Trail Vision Initiative, which is working toward more and improved multi-use trails throughout Door County.

The races are freestyle, meaning skiers can use the skating or diagonal stride technique. Refreshments will be available for purchase, including coffee and hot chocolate. Pete’s Garage of Green Bay is race sponsor.

“This is a nice racing opportunity for newcomers to the sport as well as seasoned veterans getting ready for the American Birkebeiner the following weekend in Hayward,” said race director Bob Richards of DCSSA.
