Despite a glimpse of spring now and again, winter is likely to hang around a while longer. So why not use these waning days of burrow-time to delve into some good books? Just in time to help with that effort comes the Friends of Door County Libraries’ “Cabin Fever Book Sale” on March 11, 9 am – 2 pm, at the Sturgeon Bay Library, 107 S. 4th Avenue, Sturgeon Bay.
Browsers can choose from literally thousands of books in every genre, categorized and displayed on tables and lining the shelves of the Mel Madel Friends Room. Making this shopping opportunity even better will be special access to overflow books in the workroom, including a wide selection of collectible, vintage and like-new books suitable for gift-giving. Other special features offered at this first-of-the-year sale will be vintage Door County postcards and an array of small paperbacks, including vintage originals and reprints dating to the 1950s and ‘60s, specially priced at 25 cents.
Proceeds from this and all sales of used books at Sturgeon Bay are disbursed by the Friends to fund programs and materials benefitting all eight Door County libraries.
