Friends of Door County Libraries Holiday Book Sale Is Dec. 3

The annual Holiday Book Sale, sponsored by The Friends of Door County Libraries, takes place Dec. 3, 9 am – 2 pm, in the downstairs Mel Madel Room at the Sturgeon Bay Library, 107 S. 4th Avenue, Sturgeon Bay.

Hundreds of book donations pour into the main library each year and then are re-sold to benefit a multitude of library projects. Throughout the year, however, the members of the Book Committee keep an eye out for like-new books in excellent condition that are suitable for (re)gifting. This outstanding selection is set aside to be available for this once-a-year holiday sale.

“There are books in all genres, for all ages, including many recent fiction titles and bestsellers,” notes Friends president Adele Douglass. “This is such an affordable opportunity to stock up on gifts for the book-lovers on your list while doing good for the library, as well.” In addition to a wide selection of fiction, shoppers will find tables full of books, sorted by category for easy browsing – from cookbooks and crafts to children’s titles and coffee table books.

The Friends group hosts a number of book sale events throughout the year (along with ongoing lobby sales at Sturgeon Bay) and the proceeds help to fund some $20,000 annually in materials and programs benefitting all eight Door County libraries.
