In February, the State of Wisconsin Building Commission approved the release of $248,600 in stewardship property development funds for the 16 friends group projects that will begin this spring. These friends groups are providing a total of $668,000 in cash match for these projects.
A friends group is a group of people who have an interest in Wisconsin’s natural resources and who volunteer their time, services and support in order to enhance one of Wisconsin’s state parks, forests, trails and other properties.
The Friends of Peninsula State are one of the sixteen groups to receive funds. They will use the money to renovate the walkway at Peninsula State Park’s nature center. For more information visit dnr.wi.gov.
