Door County artist Mitch Heinrichs has been invited to a two-and-a-half month show in the windows at The Shops at Grand Avenue Mall in Milwaukee. His work will be on display through May 31.

He holds a commercial art and advertising degree from the Milwaukee Institute of Technology, and was with the design and advertising department of Boston Store until his call to military service in Vietnam. Upon return, Heinrichs took a position with the WT Grant department store chain as advertising manager. After a year with Grant, he accepted the art director position with Country Beautiful, a design and publisher of coffee table pictorials, advertising media and magazine design.

Heinrichs has recently taken classes with artists Tom Nachreiner, Craig Blietz, Jim Hempel and others. He is presently on the board of the Door County Art League and a member of the figure drawing guild at the Art Guild in Sturgeon Bay.

This spring, Heinrichs will open a new gallery at the Quarry House in Fish Creek on Spring Road.
