Frykman Studio Gallery of Door County Opens New Space

“So Much Fun” by David Frykman

The Frykman Studio Gallery of Sister Bay has invited the public to visit their expanded gallery space showing David Frykman’s fresh and spontaneous oil paintings. The opening will take place July 2 from 10 am – 5 pm. Light refreshments will be served.

Frykman began his art career in 1974 as a studio potter in Sister Bay with the opening of Potters Gallery where he made and showed functional and decorative stoneware pottery. In the early ‘90s David began carving and introduced a national line of whimsical Santa Clause reproductions offered at fine gift shops around the country. In 2005 the Frykman family opened The Frykman Studio Gallery, which shows Frykman’s original carvings (some of his reproductions are still available at Tannenbaum Holiday Shop in Sister Bay), as well as Door County nature photography by Heather and Lucas Frykman, and stoneware pottery by Winnipeg potter Steve Jorgenson.

While David Frykman has always painted, he has only recently begun focusing on and showing his Alla Prima oils inspired by the woods and water of Door County.

The new gallery space is located in the building just behind the main Frykman Studio Gallery and will be open daily from 10 am – 5 pm. Frykman Studio Gallery is located at 2566 S. Bay Shore Drive, Sister Bay. For more information call 920.854.7351 or visit http://www.frykmangallery.com.
