FSA Reminders and Announcements

The Farm Service Agency (FSA) has several announcements for late September.

Marketing Assistance Loans (MAL) are available to producers who share in the risk of producing a crop. To be eligible, a producer must maintain continual beneficial interest in the crop from harvest through the earlier of the date the loan is repaid or CCC takes title to the commodity.

Also, the loan limit for the Guaranteed Loan Program was recently released, and will increase to $1,302,000 on Oct. 1. “Raising the guaranteed loan limit will allow FSA to better meet the financial needs of producers across the state,” said Brad Pfaff, State Executive Director for Wisconsin’s FSA.

USDA Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack has announced an extension for the emergency grazing deadline on CRP acres to Nov. 30. Interested producers must remove cattle no later than Nov. 30, or when grass height limitations in conservation plan have been reached.
