Fyr Bal Celebrates Fifty Years

Ephraim explodes with summer excitement at the 50th Annual Fyr Bal Festival (pronounced ‘fear ball’), taking place on a new weekend – June 21. The festival re-creates traditions of early Norwegians celebrating Midsummer’s Eve. Artists, food, musical entertainment and family activities along the shoreline of Eagle Harbor welcome the arrival of summer. Visitors are welcome to hop on the trolley or stroll through the village and visit the many historic landmarks, shops, galleries and restaurants for which Ephraim is known.

A signature Fyr Bal event, evening bonfires, represent the burning of the ‘Winter Witch’ and usher in the long days of summer. Fireworks complete the eventful day.
