Celebrate Ephraim’s Scandinavian heritage and the transition of spring into summer at the 55th annual Fyr Bal festival – a day-long event that will take place along the shore of Eagle Harbor on June 15.
7:30-10:30 am: Pancake breakfast hosted by the Ephraim Yacht Club at the Ephraim Village Hall
7:30-8:30 am: Sunrise yoga hosted by the Northern Door YMCA at Anderson Dock
8-11:30 am: Ephraim Library bake sale
8:30 am – 2 pm: Used-book sale at the Ephraim Library
8:45-9:45 am: Tone class hosted by the Northern Door YMCA at Anderson Dock
9 am: Fur Bal pet parade. Starts at the Ephraim post office and moves down Highway 42 to the Harborside Park gazebo and the Ephraim Village Hall. Your pet could be the next Fur Bal chieftain!
9 am – 9 pm: DJ Michael Raye
10 am – 8 pm: Artisan market and food vendors
10 am – 4 pm: Open Bird Sanctuary visits Harborside Park
10 am – 10 pm: Free trolley rides from remote parking locations (UU Church and Green Gables Shops in north Ephraim, and Nelson’s Shopping Center in south Ephraim)
10 am: Wilson’s ice cream–eating contest sponsored by and located outside Wilson’s Restaurant & Ice Cream Parlor
10 am – 4 pm: Wooden shoe carving demonstrations at the Harborside Park gazebo
10 am – 4 pm: Segway the Door agility course in front of the Historic Hillside Inn of Ephraim
10 am – 10 pm: Purple Putter Benefit for Big Brothers Big Sisters at the Red Putter
10:30 am – 12:30 pm: Princesses Elsa and Anna visit the Pine Grove Resort patio
10:30 am – 8 pm: Craft-beer sales, featuring Fyr the Byr
11:30 am: Cake walk in the Ephraim Village Hall
11:30 am – 1:30 pm: DIY craft ($5 each), sponsored by Clink!, in the Ephraim Village Hall
11:30 am – 1 pm: Music by D’Arez, sponsored by Thomas M. Schuder and Somerset Inn and Suites
12-2:30 pm: Have your fortune read by a tarot card reader, free, at Eagle Harbor Inn
12-3:30 pm: Face painting and henna (donations go to the Northern Door Children’s Center), sponsored by Nicolet National Bank, on the Ephraim Shores Resort lawn
12-3:30 pm: Carnival games, sponsored by the Door County United High School girls swim team, on the Ephraim Shores Resort lawn
1:30-3:30 pm: Rosemaling activity ($5), sponsored by Somerset Inn and Suites, in the Ephraim Village Hall
2-3 pm: Music by The Hollands! in front of the Ephraim Village Hall
2-4 pm: Children’s T-Shirt decorating ($10) on the Ephraim Shores Resort lawn
3-5 pm: Cornhole tournament on the Pine Grove Resort lawn. Register at the Ephraim Visitor Center, Eagle Harbor Inn, Pine Grove Resort or Wilson’s Restaurant & Ice Cream Parlor. Drop-ins are also welcome.
3:30 pm: Cherry pie–eating contest, sponsored by Seaquist Orchards, outside the Ephraim Village Hall
4-5:15 pm: Music by Terry Murphy and The Cherry Pickers in front of the Ephraim Village Hall
6-7:30 pm: Music by Eddie Larsen’s Classic Memories Band in front of the Ephraim Village Hall
6:30-7:30 pm: Chieftain meet-and-greet in the Ephraim Village Hall
8 pm: Grand-prize raffle drawing and Scandinavian dancers and singers in front of the Ephraim Village Hall
8:30 pm: 55th annual Chieftain Ceremony and Bonfire Lighting; medallion by Clink!
