Gala to Honor Door Shakespeare’s 10th Anniversary

On Sunday, August 17 from 6 – 9 pm, Door Shakespeare will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a musical gala at the Woodwalk Gallery in Fish Creek. The gala will feature music from Peninsula Music Festival musicians Max Huls (violin), Linda Minke (cello) and their son, Victor (flute and cello). The evening of music will also include gourmet food and drink, as well as a silent auction.

Victor and Max have previously graced Door Shakespeare audiences with pre-show and intermission music, and their return promises to delight both new and returning fans. The musical portion of the evening will include Haydn’s “London Trio” for flute, violin and cello, trios from the time of Shakespeare by Thomas Morley and Robert Johnson, a Baroque trio sonata, “Duo for Violin and Cello” by Kodaly, and Bartok transcriptions.

Rounding out the evening of music, food and drink will be a silent auction featuring gifts, including golfing for four at Peninsula State Park, formal dining at the Inn at Kristofer’s and gift certificates to the Spa at Sacred Grounds.

The cost of the event is $50 per person. Those interested in attending should RSVP to the Door Shakespeare office at 920.839.1500 by August 10.
