Gallery of the DCAL Hosts Artists Demonstrations

“Blue Lake Boathouse” by Audrey Off.

Door County Art League (DCAL) artist Sally Everhardus will be demonstrating during business hours on Saturday, June 28, at the Gallery of the Door County Art League, located at the back of the Top of the Hill Shops, Highway 42 and County F on Spring Road in Fish Creek.

Everhardus, a graduate of the University of Michigan’s School of Art with a minor in art and architectural history, works in a variety of mediums, including watercolor, pastel, acrylic, and wood.

On July 3 and 10, pastel and acrylic artist Pat Olson will be demonstrating. Olson enjoys equally the two mediums and works in both traditional and whimsical styles.

Also on July 3, from 5 – 7 pm, the Gallery of the Door County Art League will host a reception open to the public. The public is invited to meet the participating artists, enjoy refreshments, and view several new pieces of art to be added to the exhibit.

On Saturday, July 5, Sally Berner will demonstrate oil painting. Berner also works in pastels. She usually paints on stretched canvas or canvas on board with bristle or soft brushes. Because Berner’s main themes are animals, she takes many photographs of dogs, cows, horses, and local wildlife.

Audrey Off will be demonstrating on Thursday, July 10, along with Olson. She will be enhancing one of her large photo giclees. Off’s style is eclectic. She works in watercolor, oil, acrylic, mixed media, and photography. A native of Door County, Off began her professional career in the late ‘70s. She has been reproducing her own artwork with a wide-format printer for several years and finds it an exciting and challenging medium.

The Gallery of the DCAL is open Thursday through Monday, 10 am – 5 pm. For more information visit http://www.doorcountyartleague.org. President Jeanne Whildin, 920.823.2532, and Vice-president JoAnne Rosenfeld, 920.559.7530, also welcome inquiries.
