Gallery Sales Benefit Peninsula Art School

Painting by Marla Baggetta.

A benefit event for the Peninsula Art School will be held Saturday, June 19 at the Katie Gingrass Gallery at Liberty Square in Egg Harbor featuring award-winning artist Marla Baggetta. The public is invited; gourmet hors d’oeuvres and wine donated by the Bistro at Liberty Square will be served.

The gallery event appropriately caps off a week of teaching at the Peninsula Art School for Baggetta, who began painting landscapes following a successful career as a commercial illustrator. Her pastel compositions overcome the clichés of landscape genre.

“Landscape painting is a very playful and active process for me,” she says. “I’m trying to capture a moment in which all these elements come together to a point of balance and harmony.”

The show will be on exhibit until the middle of July. The Katie Gingrass Gallery and Liberty Square will donate 25% of all gallery sales during this month to the Peninsula Art School. For the rest of the season, future artist openings will similarly benefit Birch Creek Music Festival, Door County Land Trust, and Altrusa.
