GBAY/DECA Students Medal at Marketing Competition

Gibraltar GBAY/DECA participated in the District Career Development Conference on Jan. 11 at Green Bay Preble High School. More than 700 marketing students participated in the conference.

At this competition, the following students received medals: Ben Bruns, Carl Witteborg, Ethan Wuollett, Collin Massad, Arianna Fearing, Nora Harris, and Ben Anderson, who placed second in the series, medaled in the marketing exam, promotion role play, and product/service management role play.

In addition, Bruns performed the national anthem to open the awards ceremony, advisor Mary Witteborg served as the series director for the hotel and lodging management events, and local business people Teri Berndt (Baylake Bank), Mert Larsen (On Deck Clothing Co.), Brian Hackbarth (Summertime Restaurant), Blake Seiwert (LogiTran) and Kim Thorn (CGI) traveled to Green Bay to judge events.

Competing in the state conference in March are Anderson in Food Marketing; Anderson, Bruns and Witteborg in Sports and Entertainment Marketing Promotion Plan (focused on the Learning Center Short Course at Peninsula Golf Course); and Fearing and Harris in Fashion Promotion Plan (with a promotion plan for Fred Boutique in Fish Creek).
