Gear Up to Run Green

J. Heroux runs through Crossroads at Big Creek during Running Green for Crossroads.

Be one of the runners and walkers of all ages who come together for a morning on the trails in the midst of nature at Running Green for Crossroads on June 21, 2014, beginning at 8 am.

Competitive and recreational health enthusiasts alike can choose from a 2K, 5K or 10K trail run. Along with a great run, all participants will receive a performance T-shirt, market bag, eco- light bulb, night light, evergreen tree and locally produced refreshments. Who wouldn’t want a Door County cherry sundae topped off with local granola to welcome in the summer solstice?

This year, Running Green for Crossroads is teaming up with Nike for “Reuse-a-Shoe.” Participants are encouraged to bring worn-out shoes to this event. Reuse-a-Shoe takes worn-out athletic shoes and grinds them down to create a new material called Nike Grind, which is used to make high-quality sports surfaces, including courts, turf fields, tracks and more.

Running Green is a family event. Dad can walk with the two-year-old while mom runs the 5k with an older child. Now is the time to register at Before May 24, registration is $20 individual and you get a finisher tee, and after it’s $25.
