GEO-DC Names Contractor for New Discovery Center

The Greater Escarpment Organization of Door County (GEO-DC) has selected Amber Beard of projekt hABitat as the general contractor to further develop Ellison Bay’s Niagara Escarpment Discovery Center. An Ellison Bay native, Beard brings impressive knowledge and international experience in sustainable-building practices and LEED certification.

The building at 11876 Hwy 42 will be the new home of the Niagara Escarpment Discovery Center. Although volunteers have completed much of the initial work on the building, GEO-DC has selected Beard to help guide the next development phase. Priorities are ensuring that facilities are ADA compliant and finalizing the floor plan to make way for interpretative displays.

Formed in 2014, GEO-DC is a 501(c)(3) organization that educates Door County residents and visitors about the geological, environmental, cultural and historical impacts attributable to the Niagara Escarpment.
