George Sawyn Plays at Lost Moth Gallery

George Sawyn will be in concert Jan. 20 at Lost Moth Gallery in Egg Harbor. Sawyn moved to Door County from Chicago a number of years ago and his guitar playing has been a gift to the county. Playing in wedding bands for more than 35 years, he can play just about anything and always has a section of his concerts where he asks for requests.

Sawyn has played in the pit orchestra for Always: Patsy Cline, The Full Monty, and Bridges of Madison County at Peninsula Players, and recorded and performed with many Door County musicians. Sawyn said he invites the community to “come out for an evening of solo guitar; my introspective original music, improvisations, jazz, and possibly a bit of iPad electronica.”

Jeanne Kuhns will sing a couple of tunes with him too, as they are working on a CD of standards to be released this fall.
