Get Acquainted with Plum Island on Aug. 17

Take the family for a picnic on Plum Island on Aug. 17, when the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and the Friends of Plum and Pilot Islands will offer guided, interpretive tours of the island’s natural habitat and historic maritime structures. 

Visitors can hike the trails, climb the rear range light, kayak around the island and snorkel the wreck Grape Shot. Dress for the weather, and take walking shoes, food, water, sunscreen, and swimming and snorkeling gear.
