Get Wet Looking for Fossils at Big Creek

Join Crossroads at Big Creek for family programming and educational lectures.

The June 8 family program, Fossil Hunt, starts at 11 am. Fossils show up in wet rocks, so June is the perfect time to look for fossils along Big Creek and its swale system. Wear clothes and shoes that can get wet.

Rob Elliott, a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service fish biologist, will present “All About Lake Sturgeon: Recovery Effort in Green Bay and across the Great Lakes” – a discussion on the status of and efforts to care for these ancient fish – on June 12, 7 pm.

Crossroads at Big Creek, 2041 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay, is a learning preserve that comprises the Big Creek, Ida Bay and The Cove preserves. All programs are free and open to the public.
