The music doesn’t stop for winter. Whether you want to sit back and enjoy, sing along with Karaoke or belt out your own tune before an open mic, here’s where to do it all this week.

Bessie, Billie and Nina: Pioneering Women in Jazz

Feb. 25, 7 pm, Door Community Auditorium, 3926 Hwy 42 in Fish Creek

Powerfully and playfully blazing new trails in both their music and activism, Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday and Nina Simone became three of the 20th century’s most influential vocalists. Charenée Wade, Camille Thurman and Tahira Clayton – backed by an all-female band – celebrate the lasting legacies of these iconic artists by performing some of their classic songs.

Disney Spectacular

Feb. 26, 4 pm, Sturgeon Bay High School, 1230 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay

This concert features Sturgeon Bay’s grade 6-12 bands playing tunes from popular Disney movies in the high school gym and benefits activities for band students. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase. Buy tickets in the high school band room.

Capt. John’s Acoustic Song Circle

Feb. 26, 4-6 pm, Hügel Haus, 11934 Hwy 42 in Ellison Bay

Stop by with your acoustic instrument to play, sing, listen and/or enjoy great food! The group plays country, bluegrass, folk, oldies and original music. All levels of players are welcome to sit in.
