GHS Students Earn Academic Awards

Gibraltar High School announces the academic achievements of several students through the 2013 National Merit® Scholarship Program and the AP® Scholar Awards.

Andrea Nelson, daughter of David and Jolynn Nelson, was named a Commended Student in the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Program. Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2013 competition by taking the 2011 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®).

Also, nine Gibraltar students have earned AP Scholar Awards in recognition of their achievement on AP Exams. Peter Burress, Sage Conrad, Andrea Nelson, and Samantha Phillips qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award; and Nora Harris, Ainsley Nelson, Jared Slagle, Logan Thomas and Ashley Zahn qualified for the AP Scholar Award.
