The Jacksonport Thanksgiving Day Parade and Benefit was a great success thanks to everyone who attended. Students from Gibraltar and Sevastopol high schools teamed up to raise money for 5-year-old Cruz Anschutz, who had undergone treatment for a Retinoblastoma in his left eye.

Gibraltar DECA and Sevastopol Student Council presented his mother, Robin Anschutz, with $1,094.72, which represented proceeds from the raffle and an Amazing Minute fundraiser held at the Mini Business World Conference in November. An undisclosed additional amount was presented from the funds collected along the parade route on Thanksgiving Day.

In addition, some of the funds from the bucket collection will purchase Christmas gifts and food for a local family. Donations are still accepted through Baylake Bank in the name of Gibraltar DECA. For more information call Mary Witteborg at 920.421.0719.
