Gibraltar DECA Students Win at State Conference

Gibraltar DECA, the Association of Marketing, Management and Entrepreneurship Students, returned from the State Career Development Conference with several awards. The chapter earned a state award for general contributions to charities and community service work.

The team of Andras Szakala and Ryan Kropuenske earned first place in the Virtual Business Challenge, an online business simulation completed in January.

Sophomore Connor Duffy placed eighth in Wisconsin in the Principles of Hospitality and Tourism Event. He earned two medals in the performance (role play) events. Duffy is the son of Patrick and Julie Duffy, Sister Bay.

Gibraltar DECA thanks six area business people Teri Berndt, Mert Larsen, Julie Duffy, Denise Stillman, Bob and Doris Loss. They traveled to Lake Geneva to judge in one of the 58 role plays with 1,200 competitors state-wide.
