Gibraltar DECA Successful at Atlanta Conference

Gibraltar DECA recently returned from the International Career Development Conference in Atlanta last week with two awards. These are the first international awards in the history of Gibraltar’s DECA/business program.

Senior Ben Anderson medaled in the Food Marketing Management Communications Role Play event. In addition, Anderson, son of Gary and Tammy Anderson, was instrumental in getting GBAY (Gibraltar’s School Store Operation) certified as a GOLD School-Based Enterprise.

Senior Carl Witteborg, son of Drew and Mary Witteborg, completed the process in Atlanta by fulfilling the SBE training program and presenting the Product Management standards for GBAY.

Anderson and Witteborg were also part of the Sports and Entertainment Promotion Plan team event that was presented by Junior Ben Bruns. Up against multi-million dollar promotion plans, Bruns, son of John and Kelli Bruns, placed in the top 20 percent in the event for his presentation on the Peninsula Golf Course Learning Center.
