Gibraltar Elementary Students Create Library Mural

Friends of Gibraltar and Gibraltar Elementary School are creating a mural in the Elementary School Library with local artists Liz Maltman and Mary White. Gibraltar Elementary students, from kindergarten to sixth grade, are designing and painting the mural. Gibraltar Art teachers Karla Donohue and Emily Salm, Gibraltar Media Specialist Roberta Champeau and Mary Shultz will also be part of creating the mural.

The mural theme is: Lucky to Live by the Bay, and is inspired by Door County natural scenery and will include about 270 creatures that live in Door County.

Local businesses also helped with the artistic endeavor, including Artists Guild in Sturgeon Bay, Nelson’s Hardware in Fish Creek and Peninsula School of Art.
