Gibraltar Football Tops Suring

Gibraltar knocked off Suring 30-28 in the opening round of the WIAA 8-Man football playoffs Friday.

Luke Steebs completed 7 of 18 passes for 126 yards and three touchdowns. Alex Laughlin caught five passes for 103 and two scores, and Brandon Stillman added a touchdown catch.

The 8-2 Vikings play at Newman Catholic Friday at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinals. Newman Catholic – who beat the Gibraltar 61-46 in the 2018 playoffs – defeated Marion/Tigerton 56-14 in its opening round game.
