Gibraltar grad named TIME publisher

• Kim Kelleher, a Gibraltar graduate, has moved up again. Kelleher was named Vice President/ Publisher of TIME magazine Jan. 1. Time Inc. CEO Jack Griffin had high praise for Kelleher in a press release.

“Kim is an industry star,” Griffin said. “She has broad experience, significant contacts and a track record of stellar success. Under her leadership, Sports Illustrated has made significant strides, and we look forward to the same success at TIME as she works together with John Q. Griffin.”

Kelleher was named Vice President of Global Sales for Sports Illustrated in July by TIME Inc., the magazine’s parent company.

• Myles Dannhausen Sr. and Joe Krauel moved on to the general election in the Egg Harbor Town Chairman race Feb. 15. They were the top two vote-getters in a three-way primary that included Kurt Krauel as well. Kurt Krauel pulled out of the race shortly before the primary because he expects to move out of the town soon. Dannhausen earned 53 votes, Joe Krauel 36, and Kurt Krauel 11.

• The Door County Visitor Bureau released a video shot in July of 2010 to promote the peninsula at http://www.doorcounty.com. The video is roughly divided into three sections, each representing an element of the brand line “Your stories. Our setting. Like nowhere else.” In addition, the original music score was composed and performed by Door County’s own Eli Mattson.

• The Door County Sheriff’s Department released a warning about a credit card scam. The department has received complaints that people are being contacted by cell phone and being told that their credit card has been canceled and activation on a new card is needed. An automated system then directs them on how to proceed, eventually asking for a credit card number. The calls are originating from the number 373.835.5726. This is a scam, and those contacted by the scam are urged to contact the Door County Sheriff’s Department at 920.746.2400.

• Sturgeon Bay School Board Member Ken McIntyre resigned, opening up a position for a one-year term on the board.
