Gibraltar Highlights from Valders Viking Invitational

Gibraltar High School’s track team competed at the Valders Viking Invitational on April 16.
The best effort of the day for the boys team came from senior Erik Bosman, who bested his own high jump mark by four inches, finishing in second place with a leap of six feet. Other team points came from Ian Chomeau (tied for fifth in pole vault, nine feet), Caleb House (sixth in the 3200 run, 11:21.55), Ian Moore (seventh in pole vault, nine feet), Evan Henry (eighth in the 3200 run, 11:44.80), and the 4x100meter relay (Bosman, Thor Johnson, Henry, Evan Reinhardt, eighth in 49.81).
The girls’ highest finish came in the 4×100 meter relay, which finished in second place with a time of 55.19. The relay team was comprised of Chloe Massad, Bria Caldecott, Grace Carlisle and Aleah Bauldry. Caldecott also finished in third place in the high jump competition, with a leap of 4 feet 10 inches. Other team points came from Bauldry (fourth in 100m, 13.96), Caldecott (sixth in 100m, 14.27), the 4×800 meter relay (Brielle Fitzgerald, Jenny Leonard, Gretchen Chomeau, Mackenzie Straub, fourth in 14:03.56), and the 4×400 meter relay (Fitzgerald, Leonard, Hannah Brandt, Chomeau, sixth in 5:35.61).
