Gibraltar Joins Movement Against Citizens United Decision

On Aug. 2 the town of Gibraltar became the eighth community in the county to pass a resolution supporting limits on campaign finance super-PACs. The resolution asks the Door County board and our elected state representatives to support  – and the state to hold – a non-binding referendum allowing voters to have a voice on the proposed constitutional amendment. The amendment is to overturn the Supreme Court’s 5-4 Citizens United ruling that gave corporations and super-PACs the same constitutional rights as individual citizens and declared money is free speech.
