Gibraltar Senior (and Pulse Intern) Earns Academic Honor

Peninsula Pulse intern and Gibraltar High School senior Andrew Phillips has been named to the Green Bay Press-Gazette‘s Academic Team.

Phillips has been writing and working on the Pulse website for the past year, fitting it into a hectic schedule that includes work as News Editor for the Viking Voice, Gibraltar’s award-winning school newspaper, and advanced placement course work. He also writes the “Tech This Out” column in the business section of the Pulse.

The Egg Harbor resident sports a 3.96 GPA, which earned him valedictorian honors. He’s also a member of the jazz and pep bands, the National Honor Society, and is an AP Scholar.

He will head to Marquette University in the fall, where he’ll study journalism and computer science after another summer writing for the Pulse.

The Press-Gazette Academic Team includes 10 students from Northeastern Wisconsin recognized for academic, extracurricular and community involvement.
