Gibraltar Student Art Displayed at Ridges

The Ridges Sanctuary is exhibiting works by art students in Gibraltar secondary schools that focus on how those students engage with nature. The exhibit will be on display through March.

The 10-foot-tall mural that Mrs. Meikle’s Art 1 students created.

The show’s signature piece is a large mural on canvas that depicts the Baileys Harbor range lights and the flora and fauna that inhabit the area. The mural both honors the beauty of the native plants and wildlife and addresses the students’ concern for the endangered status of many species.

Submitted.

A reception will be held Feb. 25, 2-4 pm, at The Ridges Sanctuary’s Cook-Albert Fuller Nature Center, 8166 Hwy 57 in Baileys Harbor.
