The Gibraltar High School Student Council and the Red Cross have collaborated to bring northern Door County the opportunity to save lives on Nov. 2, 11 am – 4 pm, during a blood drive at Door Community Auditorium. New for this year, the blood drive will collaborate with Be The Match, a bone marrow registry that connects donors with patients in need. As a bonus, a donation will also help one or more graduating seniors earn a scholarship for college. Donors should drink plenty of water, get at least eight hours of sleep the night before, and eat iron-rich foods before the donation. For more details, visit redcrossblood.org or call 1.800.RED.CROSS. Walk-ins are welcome, but to make an appointment, leave a message at 920.868.3284, ext. 244. Provide your name, phone number and best time of day to donate.
