Gibraltar Welcomes New Fire Truck

The Gibraltar Fire Department welcomed the newest addition to its fleet June 28 at a special wet-down ceremony June 28 at the Gibraltar Fire Station.

The custom-built Ram truck features ground spray and compressed air foam capabilities in addition to a front mounted hose that can be controlled from the truck cabin.

Gibraltar Fire Chief John Stahl thanked the town for the new truck.

“It’s stunning that they would support us with equipment like this,” Stahl said.

The truck replaces the brush truck purchased in 1974 when Stahl’s father, Dan, was fire chief. That truck was purchased for $16,840. The last engine purchased by the department was delivered in 2003.

Ram had a camera crew on hand filming for a possible commercial featuring the truck.
