Gift Ideas for Mother’s Day

Bracelet by Helen Bacon of Helen’s Botanicals.

In time for Mother’s Day, Greco Gallery has new accessories from Helen’s Botanicals, created by local artist Helen Bacon. Bacon is a gardener who hand-dyes silk accessories with botanicals that she grows and collects herself. This spring, she is introducing something new – intricate, sparkling bracelets made with fiber, beads, and charms.

Bacon’s new bracelets are made from ten different kinds of beads, including pearls, shells, charms, and other specialty beads she has collected during her travels. Bacon also makes necklaces with her naturally dyed ribbons, accented with African and vintage beads.

Also, Greco Gallery welcomes its newest member artist, Stephanie Holznecht. An acrylic painter and mixed media artist who has moved from realism to abstraction in recent years. Holznecht usually has two to three paintings in different media “evolving in unison.” She works on quick-drying fluid acrylics, while the thicker heavy-body acrylics slowly dry.

“There is a never-ending supply of ideas and inspirations to be found from my emotions and reactions to the world around me,” says Holznecht.

Greco Gallery, located between the two bookstores on Sturgeon Bay’s Historic Third Avenue, is open 10 am – 5 pm Monday to Thursday; 10 am – 6 pm Friday and Saturday; and Sundays by chance. For more information call 920.743.5000 or visit grecogallerycoop.com.
