Mary Ellen Sisulak of Turtle Ridge will present her new children’s book, Pinklieee! A book-signing event will take place on Nov. 29 from 10 am – 5 pm. Explaining her inspiration for the book, Sisulak said, “In spring this year I took a workshop at Write On, Door County with well-known author/illustrator Nancy Carlson. Immediately a door was opened for me. I had written stories for my children when they were small, but had an artistic block about illustrating them. I had recently found out that I was to be a grandmother and this inspired me to move ahead. Illustrating the story was just a delight using ink, watercolor pencils and watercolors. Then the hard part, getting it ready to format, publish, print and market. All of these things took much more time and research than I ever thought possible. I really wanted to present it to my son and his wife when their baby came in October, but I was running out of time, so I printed and hand-bound a copy for them, so they would be the first to see it finished. Now the book has been printed and is ready for the public.”
