Gifts to Door County Library

Door County Library is very grateful for generous gifts that enhance library service. During 2007 the library received over $30,000 from grants made to libraries from the Friends of Door County Libraries and the Door County Library Foundation, Inc. and from private gifts and memorial donations.

Gifts in memory of loved ones are given to all libraries in the system and are used to purchase materials in the area of interest of the loved one. Fish Creek Library benefits from the time and talents of Barbara Bicker. She sells craft items and all proceeds of those sales go to support the Fish Creek Library.

Sister Bay/Liberty Grove received money to purchase an additional computer for public use in 2007. Customers in Sturgeon Bay have access to an efficient, private and customer friendly self-checkout system due to grants from the library Friends and the Library Foundation.

Used book donations to individual branches and to the Fiends sale at Sturgeon Bay bring money to all Door County library sites. Funding for summer reading program performers and reading club incentives are examples of projects that the Friends support with book sale proceeds.
