Gills Rock Coffee Shop Hosts Labor Day ArtFest

On Sept. 3 & 4, Gills Rock Coffee Shop will host its annual Labor Day ArtFest.

Twenty artists will showcase their work, many doing demonstrations, such as Joe Hernandez and his brother Manny firing raku pots; and Ray Kapfamer painting on big canvases. Other returning exhibitors are Amy Taylor, silver jewelry; Norm Knott, mixed media; Mark Haberly, oil painting; Kris Franzke, pottery and mosaics; Terri Roller, vintage aprons; Denny Moutray, photography; Steven and Arlene Stanger, black and white photography; and David Franke, mixed media.

New exhibitors are Shannon Molter, bags made with recycled leather; Linda Wilkinson, fabric purses; Marcy Farber of Cousin’s Walk; Laura Harper, beaded jewelry and abstract paintings; Lewis Risenhoover, stainless steel images; Kathy Franke, aluminum jump rings in a variety of designs in a collection called Chain Maille; Jeannine Holzman, mystical silk scarves.

Deb Rosen will be on hand to give intuitive birthday reading and handwriting analysis for increased self-awareness and happiness. Michael Kettler and Steve Reda will entertain guests by playing blues and rock.

Gills Rock Coffee Shop will be open extended hours for the weekend, 8 am – 5 pm, offering specialty coffee drinks and a variety of made-from-scratch pastries, chili and bread. Gills Rock Coffee is located at 12625 Highway 42. For more information call 920.854.9907
