GIRLS HOOPS: Eagles’ Comeback Comes Short

Southern Door’s girls basketball team reduced a 15-point deficit down to two with less than a minute to play Thursday, but ended up losing its Packerland Conference contest at Oconto, 61-55.

Allianna Dufek led the Eagles with 25 points. Ashlyn Delfosse added 13 points, with Bella Price scoring eight more.

Southern Door, which dropped to 5-7 in the conference and 10-10 overall, returns to action Tuesday with a league game at Algoma.

Clippers’ Comeback Bested by Blazers

Sturgeon Bay’s girls basketball team pulled within a point with 20 seconds to play Thursday, before losing its Packerland Conference home game to NEW Lutheran, 52-47.

Autumn Rass led the Clippers with 18 points.

Sturgeon Bay (0-13, 2-18) plays its next game Feb. 10 at home against Algoma.
