GIRLS HOOPS: Storm Stills Vikings in 2nd Half

After trailing by only three points at halftime Monday, Gibraltar’s girls basketball team ended up losing its home Packerland Conference contest to Kewaunee, 56-34.

The Vikings, who tallied 16 second-half points, were led by Andie Schar with a game-high 16 points.

The Storm, which made seven 3-pointers as part of a 35-point second half, was led by Jade Kroll with 15 points. Lexi Hanrahan and Brianna Demmin each added 11 points.

Up next for Gibraltar (2-13, 1-7) are conference road games scheduled for Friday against NEW Lutheran and Saturday at Sevastopol.

Peshtigo Edges Past Eagles

Southern Door’s girls basketball team led by two points at halftime Monday when the Eagles ended up losing in Packerland Conference play at home to Peshtigo, 40-39.

Allianna Dufek led Southern Door with 13 points. Payton Gilbertson added nine points, with Ashlyn Delfosse scoring seven more. 

Up next for the Eagles (9-8, 4-5) is Friday’s league game at Sevastopol

Clippers Clobbered by Blue Devils

Sturgeon Bay’s girls basketball team gave up more than 40 points in each half Monday en route to losing its Packerland Conference home game to Oconto, 86-30.

Autumn Rass led the Clippers with 10 points.

Up next for the Sturgeon Bay (2-14, 0-9) is a league game Friday at Peshtigo.
