Girls Softball: Pioneers Split with Storm

Sevastopol’s softball team split Monday’s Packerland Conference doubleheader against Kewaunee.

In the first game, which was resumed from previously being suspended with the Storm ahead 3-0 in the top of the third, the Pioneers lost, 3-2.

Sevastopol’s four hits included a home run by Naomi Rikkola, with Jolene Luedtke, Addison Schauske and Libby Ash each adding a hit.

The Pioneers won the second game over Kewaunee, 6-5.

Schauske pitched all seven innings to record the victory, allowing two earned runs while striking out 10.

Of Sevastopol’s nine hits, Schauske had three of them, including a home run and a double, and drove in three runs. Luedtke added two hits with a double.

The Pioneers, who are 9-5 in the Packerland, play their final conference doubleheader of the season Tuesday at Algoma.
