Giving Emphasized in Jacksonport Thanksgiving Day Parade

Call of Duty – A Call for Chris was the winning parade float at the Thanksgiving Day Parade. A raffle and collection buckets at the parade raised funds for Chris Lorona, the 14-year-old diagnosed with a Germinoma Brain Tumor.

A combination of beautiful weather and wonderful people contributed to the success of the 16th Annual Jacksonport Thanksgiving Day Parade. Hundreds of onlookers enjoyed the parade entries that included a camel and Santa Claus. Darlene Simon was the Grand Marshal, in memory of Terry Simon.

The Jacksonport Business Association sponsored a $50 prize for the best entry. Judge Sherrill Eicher chose the Call of Duty – A Cure for Chris as the winning float.

The 2013 parade is scheduled for 11 am.
