Metal/glass sculptures by Mariano Perez will be showcased at the Santa Fe Shop in Fish Creek.

Perez was born in Mexico City in 1956. He is an industrial designer and graduated from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara.

mariano perez galleryWith many years of experience, hard work and great talent, he has managed to create astonishing works of art. His work gives waste materials a second chance. His collections consist of pieces made with unique multi-lenses in combination with recycled parts from cars. The multi-lenses are made with thick clear glass. Each bubble is hand carved into the glass with a diamond tool grinder and then polished back to the clear glass with five steps of sanding and polishing.

In an attempt to honor fun times from childhood, Perez created a collection of restored bicycles that, when combined with the multi-lense wheels, become outstanding decorative art pieces.

These collections are aptly named the “Second Chance Collection,” stemming from the idea of recycle, restore and reuse.

His work can be viewed exclusively at the Santa Fe Shop in Fish Creek, located at 4147 Main Street. For more information visit santafeshop.com.
