Gluten-free Options Offered at Sweetie Pies

Sweetie Pies has added four gluten-free varieties to the pie roster this season – strawberry-rhubarb, blueberry, apple and the ever-popular cherry. “Over the years it seems the demand for gluten-free items has increased,” noted Renny Lea, Sweetie Pies co-owner, “so we thought we’d give it a try.”

The pies are made first thing on Monday, before production of the regular pies, “just as we make our regular pies before proceeding to those containing nuts,” states Cathy Mazurek, co-owner and kitchen supervisor.

“If demand increases, we may need to add some more flavors to the roster,” says Mazurek.

Sweetie Pies is open daily 9 am – 5 pm through October, and is located at 9106 on Highway 42, at the Settlement Shops in Fish Creek. For pie orders, call 920.868.2743.
