Golf Tip: Swing Dynamics

To build from small swings (impact zone) to a complicated motion (full swing) you need to blend the hands and the arms with the pivot. If done properly, the synchronized motion not only moves the club in the proper relationship to the body but to the target line as well. When this happens, the club is swinging on plane. A club that is moving on plane will have the club shaft either pointing at or parallel to the target line throughout the swing. There are seven key checkpoint positions for the synchronization of the hands, arms and body ensuring an efficient swing:

Position 1: Club shaft parallel to the ground in the back swing

Position 2: Left arm parallel to the ground in the back swing

Position 3: Top of back swing

Position 4: Club shaft parallel to the ground (pre-impact)

Position 5: Impact

Position 6: Club shaft parallel to the ground post impact

Position 7: THE FINISH!
