Golfers Invited to 2017 Frostbite Open

It has become Door County New Year’s tradition for many people: The Frostbite Open at The Red Putter Mini Golf in Ephraim. On Jan. 1 players brave the cold and snow and challenge each other to miniature golf on the frozen greens. Everyone is invited to join the fun on New Year’s Day.

The tournament begins at 2 pm, with two rounds of golf played. Register and practice between 10 am and 1:45 pm. Hot drinks and chili will be served to keep everyone warm.

The cost is $25 to enter. This is an open tournament, so anyone can play, there’s no need to qualify.

A number of prizes will be given out: $700 for first place; $200 for second place; $100 for third place; $100 for best single games; trophies for all who place; and a bumper sticker that says “I survived the Frostbite Open!” for anyone who completes both rounds.
